Future look of Hotel Marjan, Split
Two largest hotels in Split are currently being completely renovated after the change in ownership. As the word goes, the renovation will not be completed in time to welcome new gusts for the summer season 2009. The Split mayor reflected on this information saying:
“According to my information from the construction sites, the hotels will not be completed by the time the summer starts.
The number of tourists that Split will loose because of this is considerable. Hotels and tourism are very important for the city of Split and so far Split has helped the hotel owners as much as it could.”

The owner of the hotel Marjan, Željko Kerum, was somewhat angered by the words of the Split mayor, stating the the renovation of Marjan hotel is the most expensive project being built in Split and that the hotel will open on 1st of July.
The director of hotel Split stated that the renovations on hotel Split will be finished sometime during the summer season but that it is impossible to state when.
On the side note, hotel Marjan after renovation will take the franchise of one major hotel chain. It should have 254 rooms, 27 luxury sweets, and a penthouse on the 11th floor.
On the other side, hotel Split will bear the name of the respected hotel chain “Radison” and after the renovation it should have 255 accommodation units with the capacity of 510 guests.
