Split Croatia - Climate
What’s there to say about Split climate? I think the fact that roman emperor Diocletian build Diocletian’s palace in Split as his “summer house” say’s enough. He had half the world to choose from and yet he decided to build his summer residence there. Through centuries climate in Split was extremely pleasant and Split was and is one of the sunniest Mediterranean destinations due to it’s exceptionally convenient geographical position. The winter in Split is mild except when cold northern wind called “bora” (NE wind) blows. Then it is better to stay inside and keep warm. This condition doesn’t occur very often however. I would say that during the year maybe one month is really cold (that is around 3 to 7 degrees Celsius) which is nothing compared to most of European or Mediterranean cities.
