Hotel Atrium in Split is a newly built luxury hotel. Hotel Atrium is the only one of it’s kind in the vicinity of Split’s center. Besides being luxury hotel so close to city center, hotel Atrium also offers conference rooms for all kinds of business meetings. The conference rooms can accommodate from 5 up to 120 people weather in Theater, Classroom or U shape setting.
Hotel Atrium also provides to its client’s amazing spa relaxation programs. Guests of Atrium hotel can use indoor pool, jacuzzi, finish sauna, infra red sauna and fitness.
The most impressive feature of modern Atrium hotel in my opinion is the remains of the Diocletian’s aqueduct in the hotel basement. The aqueduct was built in the AD 300s, and was probably damaged as early as the 5th century, during the Gothic wars around Salona and the Palace. A nine-kilometer long aqueduct brought an ample supply of water from Jadro near Solin. Capacity 1,100.000 m3 per day, enough for 173,000 inhabitants. The reason for such a huge aqueduct was; the gynaeceum Iovensis-a military factory, in which woolen uniforms were made, in the northern part of Diocletian palace.
