Interview with Mr. Josip Mandic, CEO and founder of Jam Group Travel and Vacation Agency Croatia.

Q: Please give us a short summary of your website?
A: We provide airport taxi transportation service in all Croatian cities. Our transfer service is done from/to airports, hotels, apartments and private accommodation. There is no limit to a size of the group that needs transportation service because we have a large range of transportation vehicles. So, depending on the group size, one can book transportation for taxi, shuttle, minivan, minibus and bus. Our airport transportation service is also available in Italy, Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Macedonia.

Q: What inspired you to launch your own website?

A: It’s a must these days. You can’t run a successful travel and vacation business without highly targeted and professional website which will present Your unique offer to travelers.

Q: When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
A: The first website we launched was for our Villa Cezar. It is an small hotel in Kastel Luksic (town near Split) with a restaurant offering dalmatian cuisine.

Q: How did you decide on a name for your website?
A: I was playing around with the letters from my name and got an idea which is easy to remember and has a deeper meaning to me.

Q: What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
A: We have created affiliate program for airport transportation service so any tourist agency or tour operators can have our booking engine on their website expanding their offer and making easy commissions without any extra work.

Q: What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
A: Our goal is simple. We are here to stay and we are always looking to expand and enhance our airport transportation service. As I mentioned earlier, we have expanded our service to all neighboring countries: Italy, Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia, Montenegro and Macedonia. Our goal is to cover entire world with our airport transportation service.

Q: How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
A: So far it’s going great. It is most important to stay truthful to your customers and always try to exceed their expectations. When You manage to achieve that there is no fear of failure.

Q: If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
A: We would look to develop new transportation booking technologies. It would be useful to our customers to have for example our booking engine on their cell phone so wherever they arrive they can find our transportation vehicles. It would also be interesting to enable our customers to pay for their transfer using their cell phone which would make their life easier especially when they are in a hurry to catch a plane.

Q: If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
A: Most definitely. We are expanding according to the demand and more business only means we are doing a good job.

Q: What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
A: I would have to say that it was the development of our affiliate frame for JamTransfer airport taxi transfer service. It is simply because when you are looking to develop something from a scratch there is a lot of brainstorming, a lot of changes and a lot of reprogramming.

Q: What has been your biggest challenge?
A: Organizing the network of drivers in all Croatian cities so our customers can receive a fully professional and punctual service.

Q: What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
A: In the start we depended mainly on our Google AdWords campaigns. These days we have invested in SEO website optimization and I am happy to see that we are ranking higher each day in all major search engines.

Q: How has running your website differed from your expectations?
A: Not much. I know what to expect and knew from the start what I am going into.

Q: How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don’t enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
A: The site has been online for little over a year now. No matter what happens we will stay for good because we believe in our transportation service and in airport transportation business.

A: I will not spill the beans just jet, but I can say that we are working very hard on creating a concept were money will value more for Croatian people and all visiting Croatia through Jam Group. It is our biggest project jet and when it’s done it will be on everyone’s satisfaction.
